2016 Lavazza Calendar in partnership with Slow Food

From father to son, the future is in the hands of the young earth defenders.

On Monday September 28th, at Cascina Cuccagna in Milan, Lavazza presented its new 2016 Calendar "From Father to Son", produced in partnership with Slow Food.

The representatives of a new generation of #EarthDefenders are the featured subjects of the pictures captured by Joey L., a young, Canadian photographer. These EarthDefenders are modern heroes of the world who, thanks to their fathers’ teachings, defend biodiversity and promote sustainable development.

The photographic reportage, shot in Central and South America, delves into the souls of these young growers and portrays them alongside the older generations while they work and learn. The incredible photographs capture the EarthDefenders’ contemporary moods, their desire for positive environmental change, and their undying respect for traditions.

The 2016 Lavazza Calendar “From Father to Son”, which represents the natural evolution of the 2015 Lavazza Calendar with Steve McCurry’s African portraits, will serve to provide support, through its sale as limited edition, to the Slow Food initiative Terra Madre Giovani - We Feed the Planet.  This initiative, which takes place October 3rd through 6th, will bring more than 2,000 young farmers to Milan from 120 countries worldwide to discuss issues concerning the environment, sustainability and the future of food.
